I decided to move from nhs to private treatment as I had a very bad experience where the dentist could not remove my tooth. Dr Feridah has been excellent and really helped calm my nerves. Dr Fereeba did an amazing job and seemed to remove the tooth with ease. All the staff go above and beyond and I would highly recommend this practice.

Started my journey with Manor House dental interested in invisalign. I was swiftly booked by Jaz to have a consultation with Dr Farideh and the rest became history. Fast forward a few months and many regular check ups I have finally been able to CONFIDENTLY smile again. The whole process is guided with expert care and regular milestones are established to ensure treatment is on track. Could not be more impressed or recommending of their services. I was so happy with their care I opted to also have bonding done with them too! Honestly could not fault the team one bit, a big thank you to you all for allowing me to reclaim a smile I can show off to the world!!

10/10 dental surgery. I’ve been having treatment for around 8-9 months, braces, dental bonding which basically involved dentist totally rebuilding my teeth by hand - a smile makeover for my very damaged misaligned teeth. From my first appointment I was very happy - Dr Arshad is a total professional and incredibly good at what she does, I’m also very anxious and she is so friendly she puts me at ease every time. Her assistant (apologies I can’t remember his name, possibly Amar? Or Amir? Is also fab, they really do work very hard. All the other staff are lovely, Jas & Roobee are so welcoming and accommodating, after all this time I feel at home when I visit. I come from the other side of the city, and I’ll always be a patient. Thanks so much Manor House dental 🙏

Can't fault the surgery In anyway. The front desk, dentist and hygienist are all so lovely and professional, this is coming from someone who has a bit of a fear of dentists and I wouldn't go anywhere else! Highly recommend.

      What Causes Tooth Pain?

Tooth decay is one of the most common causes of toothaches. Left untreated, an abscess can develop. This is an infection in the gum or the interior of your tooth. Immediately go to the dentist if you think you have a dental abscess.

Not only will we be able to identify the cause of your discomfort, but we can also help you determine whether or not you need to have a root canal treatment performed at Manor House Dental.

Signs You May Need Root Canal Treatment

Common signs indicating the need for root canal treatment include:

      • Severe Toothache: Persistent and intense pain, especially during chewing or applying pressure to the tooth.
      • Sensitivity to Hot and Cold: Lingering sensitivity to temperature changes even after the stimulus is removed.
      • Swelling and Tenderness: Inflammation and tenderness in the gums near the affected tooth, suggesting potential infection spread.
      • Pimple on the Gums: Development of a pimple-like bump on the gums, indicating a dental abscess or gum boil.
      • Darkening or Discolouration: Changes in tooth colour compared to surrounding teeth, signalling potential pulp damage.
      • Prolonged Pain Relief: Temporary relief followed by a return of intensified toothache, indicating ongoing pulp inflammation.
      • Cracked or Chipped Tooth: Tooth damage exposes the pulp to bacteria, leading to infection and the need for a root canal.
      • X-ray Findings: Identification of signs of pulp inflammation or infection on X-rays during routine dental exams.

It’s essential to consult with a dentist if you experience any of these signs or symptoms. Timely intervention with root canal treatment can often save the affected tooth, alleviate pain, and prevent the infection from spreading to other parts of the mouth. Your dentist will assess your condition and recommend the appropriate treatment.

Our Root Canal Treatment Procedure In Birmingham

While the root canal process is quite simple, it does require a few steps:

      1. Our dentist will administer a local anaesthetic to reduce the pain you’ll feel during the procedure.
      2. When you go to have this procedure done, the dental hygienist will brush around your tooth and drill a small hole in the side of it.
      3. The dentist will clean the inside of your teeth up to four times with a rinsing solution. Sometimes they apply a numbing agent to the outside of your teeth to remove an infection.
      4. To make sure the root has been properly cleaned, our dentist will take x-rays.
      5. If you return for the root canal or the dental crown, the tooth may be temporarily sealed.
      6. If our dentist can complete the root canal treatment in one visit, a more permanent solution will be offered.

      Root Canal Treatment Cost

The cost of a root canal treatment can vary widely depending on several factors, including the location of the tooth, the complexity of the procedure, the dentist’s experience, and the region or country in which you receive treatment. Preventing Further Damage To Your Teeth

When a cavity forms, a dentist can fill it with a filling to prevent further damage. Use fluoride toothpaste to protect your teeth from decay. So long as you regularly clean your teeth, you should be able to avoid the need for a root canal procedure. Not consuming too much sugary food and quitting smoking if you smoke can help prevent further damage to your teeth.

      Root Canal Therapy FAQ
After your root canal treatment, you should practise excellent oral hygiene to protect your tooth for the rest of your life. Brush your teeth twice a day, floss, reduce your sugar intake, and drink plenty of water. In addition, make a habit of visiting our dentist regularly to ensure the health of your restored teeth.
During the procedure, the dentist numbs the area surrounding the tooth and causes no pain at all. Even after a root canal, some discomfort may persist for a few days afterwards. Our dentists do their best to minimise any pain and discomfort during the procedure. We are here for you when you need urgent care no matter what time of day or day of the week it is.
Although it’s possible to save most teeth with a root canal, sometimes a tooth can’t be saved even if it receives root canal treatment. For example, if the root canals can’t be accessed, the root is severely damaged beyond repair, or there isn’t enough bone to support the tooth. Because of recent advances in the field of endodontics, some teeth that would have otherwise been lost can now be saved. If the endodontic treatment is unsuccessful, surgery may be used to save the tooth.
In some cases, a root canal may be inadequate due to new trauma, decay, or a loose, cracked, or broken filling that causes a new infection or inflammation. During surgery, the dentist may discover additional narrow or curved canals that weren’t initially detected.
